The Amazing Artbox (Preschool Program)
For Pre-School (ages 3-5) NJ Core Curriculum Standards addressed: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3
Creativity begins at the Main Gallery entrance as the group swings into the gallery with movement and sound, feeling and experiencing the energy that is in art. Young minds will discover images, ideas, feelings, and vocabulary to understand art and artists. They will be introduced to color, shape, texture, balance, symmetry and pattern. A hands-on art project in the studio classroom will let each young artist create for them self an original piece of artwork. An Amazing Artbox holding an art book and materials used that day will be given to the teacher for permanent classroom display. Select date for Art Project/Exhibition from list below.
Artful Adventures For grades: Kindergarten through 8th (Elementary and Middle School Program)
NJ Core Curriculum Standards addressed: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5
Dig deeper into the Main Gallery exhibition and uncover the story behind the artwork while observing, discussing, and critiquing the artwork. Continue this art exploration in a studio classroom with a professional artist, using a variety of art materials that build creativity and self-expression through take home projects. Art Tech (High School Program)
For grades: 9th through 12th
NJ Core Curriculum Standards addressed: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5
Learn about the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey’s exhibition process including art selection, use of media, and the artist’s personal approach. Select from either a half hour art project with a professional art instructor in our state of the art studio space or an exhibition design project where students will redesign the current exhibition on paper including signage, wall color, and exhibition layout.
