Gallery Education Tour Programs For Students and Adults

The Amazing Artbox (Preschool Program)
For Pre-School (ages 3-5)
NJ Core Curriculum Standards addressed: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3

Young minds will discover images, ideas, feelings, and vocabulary to understand art and artists. They will be introduced to color, shape, texture, balance, symmetry and pattern. A hands-on art project in the studio classroom will let each young artist create for them self an original piece of artwork.

Artful Adventures (Elementary and Middle School Program)
For grades: Kindergarten through 8th
NJ Core Curriculum Standards addressed: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5

Dig deeper into the Main Gallery exhibition and uncover the story behind the artwork while observing, discussing, and critiquing the artwork. Continue this art exploration in a studio classroom with a professional artist, using a variety of art materials that build creativity and self-expression through take home projects. Art Tech (High School Program)
For grades: 9th through 12th
NJ Core Curriculum Standards addressed: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5

Learn about the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey’s exhibition process including art selection, use of media, and the artist’s personal approach. Select from either a half hour art project with a professional art instructor in our state of the art studio space or an exhibition design project where students will redesign the current exhibition on paper including signage, wall color, and exhibition layout. Select date for Art Project/Exhibition from list below.

Times, Fees & Dates of Exhibitions

Tours available Monday – Friday
(Each tour is 1 ½ hours in length)
Program Times: 10:00am – 11:30am, 12:30pm – 2:00pm, 3:30pm – 5:00pm
Fee: $150 for up to 25 students, each additional student is $6

Art Speaks (College and Adult Groups)
Learn to look and understand contemporary art with one of our experienced guides. Discuss the art process, the social context, and the artist’s personal approach.

Times, Fees & Dates of Adult Exhibitions

Tours available Monday – Friday
(The tour is 1 hour in length)
Program Times: 11:00am – 12:00pm, 1:00pm – 2:00pm
Fee: $5 per adult, minimum tour group: 5 adults
