| Learn the basics of black and white darkroom techniques. Topics include: film developing, paper selection, exposure, making enlargements and use of filters. Work first with simple photographs, then bring objects from home to create interesting and personal pieces. Later, work from black and white negatives. Bring your camera and some of your photos to the first class, materials list will be discussed. Students can try out their cameras and watch a metering demonstration on a field trip to a near-by location on May 18th. |

Working from still life, photographs, and models, the student will have a true understanding of how to mix colors and place certain elements next to each other to achieve a realistic feel. Different eras of art will be discussed such as the renaissance, impressionism, and modern art to show how paint can be applied in several ways. Individual styles will be encouraged!
