Dear Friends of the Art Center, Eric Pryor, President, has announced his
resignation from the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey effective
November 1, 2008. Eric has accepted the position of Executive
Director of the New Jersey State Museum. This is an exciting
opportunity for Eric to continue his longtime work as an advocate
for the arts in the State of New Jersey. All of us who are
associated with the Art Center are proud to graduate him to such a
position of prominence. To be sure, Eric will be greatly missed, but
we know that you will join us in wishing him all the best in his new
venture. |

FOR ART'S SAKE: For the Love of
Munny
 A Munny is a 7" tall Do-It-Yourself toy that
has become the pop art canvas of choice for artists across the
world. In our own back yard, Madison artist Dan Fenelon
intricately paints his famous tribal patterns on hot and trendy
urban vinyl dolls, infusing each figure with a distinctive
personality. His company Wavedog has created a universe of distinct,
one of kind sculptural creatures which are selling at
galleries in New York, LA and France. At this year's
Blank Canvas Benefit 2008: For Art's Sake, a special sale of Dan
Fenelon's Munnies has been planned to raise funds for the Art
Center's Exhibitions Education Program. Through this programming,
the Art Center enriches the lives of children and provides a
critical visual arts component that both addresses the lack of the
arts in public schools and is tailored to meet the New Jersey Core
Curriculum Standards for Visual Arts.
