Registration forms: Click Here for a printable registration form. Printed forms or photocopied facsimiles are acceptable. Handwritten notes will not be accepted.

Registration Fees The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey reserves the right to apply an Early Registration Discount or a Late Registration Fee depending on final date of student registration. Click Here to view current session deadlines.

Payment Procedures: Each class must be paid in full at the time of registration. Pro-rating is not available.

The Art Center does not confirm registration: The Art Center makes calls to students only in the event of a class postponement or cancellation. Students should assume a class is running unless otherwise notified (usually 2-3 days before the start date).

Junior Students enrolled in Adult Classes: Students under 18 years of age must have written permission from a parent or guardian to attend any class which uses a life model.

Refunds: Students who wish to withdraw from a class or workshop will receive a full refund upon receipt of written notification postmarked two weeks (14 days) prior to the start of a class or workshop minus a $20 handling fee. After the second week of classes no refunds or letters of credit will be issued. A full refund will be given if a class or workshop is canceled by the Art Center or the class or workshop is filled before your registration is received. Refunds can be expected 3-4 weeks from the date requested.

Auditing & Transfers: The Art Center allows students to audit classes when arranged with the permission of the Director of Programs. No student should be in any classroom unless registered or by permission of the Director of Programs.

Make-Up Classes: The Art Center will only be closed for the dates listed in the Calendar of Events. Classes canceled due to holidays or instructor absence will be made up at the end of the semester. Students who miss class on their own accord will not receive a refund, letter of credit or make-up opportunity.

Instructor/Model Substitutions: The Art Center reserves the right to substitute instructors of an equal caliber for any class or workshop. The Art Center also reserves the right to substitute life and portrait models for any reason.

Student Substitutions: No student substitutions are allowed. Only students enrolled in a certain class can attend that class, unless they have the permission of the Director of Programs to audit that class.

Kiln: For all registered ceramics and sculpture students, the kiln, for an additional fee, may be used to fire work. Students producing large amounts of work will be charged additional lab fees. No work created outside of the Art Center’s studios will be fired at the Art Center.

Gift Certificates: Gift Certificates for classes and workshops are available for purchase. They are not redeemable for cash or able to be used for membership payment or other fees.

Weather: Please call the Art Center at 908-273-9121 to listen for closing announcements due to inclement weather. The announcements will be recorded by 7:30 am of the morning in question and be on the radio at 101.5 FM. Also, check for updates online at www.artcenternj.org.

Photographs: The Art Center will occasionally document classes and student work using photography and video for promotional purposes only. If you do not wish yourself or your child photographed, please notify the Art Center in writing.

Student Behavior: The Art Center reserves the right to dismiss any student for inappropriate behavior.

Student Property: The Art Center is not responsible for artwork and other property left on the premises and has no liability if such property is lost, stolen or damaged, except in instances when artwork is displayed in a gallery exhibition and insurance coverage is in place. The Art Center does not have the space to store artwork between semesters. Any artwork left after the semester ends will be discarded. The Art Center is not responsible for any digital artwork or images left on the computers in the digital lab. You must back up your work on your flash drive every time you use the lab.
